Blog - Hello Kitty Hell

Just wanted to share with you this rather amusing blog on Hello Kitty - http://www.kittyhell.com/

We suppose most Hello Kitty lovers may already be familiar with this blog (Hello Kitty Hell) but for those who don't, this is an exceptionally interesting blog for both Hello Kitty lovers and haters alike. The blogger professes to hate Hello Kitty but has devoted much time and resources into consolidating all kinds of Hello Kitty items/pictures that he could locate.

Well, we are Hello Kitty lovers and perhaps to the Kitty Hell blogger's dismay, we LOVE his blog and all the pictures of the cute Hello Kitty items that he posted. And seriously, we think that he seems to be escalating our love for the cute feline.

Mazazu Crepe - Hong Kong Causeway Bay

Mochii was in Hong Kong last week and visited a Japanese crepe cafe - Mazazu Crepe - at Causeway Bay World Trade Center Mall, Level 3. Dessert crepes are a staple in Tokyo, Harajuku, and Mochii was delighted to see the Mazazu Crepe franchise in Hong Kong.

Chose a matcha shiratama azuki (which basically means green tea, mochi & red bean) crepe with vanilla ice cream (HKD 45). The crepe was a rather generous portion and had around 3 mochis, a huge ice cream and red bean paste all over, topped with whipped cream & green tea powder. The red bean was not overly sweet, and the mixture of the contents blended perfectly. The provision of a plastic spoon definitely aided consumption.

Overall, the dessert crepe was wonderful! Some may probably find the crepes rather pricey but Mochii thinks it deserves the price tag. The non-ice cream crepes are cheaper, and there are also savoury crepes for foodies who don't have a keen sweet tooth. You can view Mazazu Crepe's menu here: http://www.mazazu.com.sg/mazazusg/menu.html

Besides Hong Kong, Mazazu Crepe stores can be found in Japan, Australia and Singapore. There is only one outlet in Singapore though, at Liang Court. We haven't been to the Liang Court branch, but will definitely try it someday and let you know if its just as good as the one at HK Causeway Bay.

The Body Shop Haul

The Body Shop was having a 3-day sale at the Suntec City Convention Hall (up to 70% discount off retail prices) and here is what Mochii came back with:

Japanese Cherry Blossom body butter (200ml) - S$14.90
Japanese Cherry Blossom shower gel (250ml) - 2 for S$16.90
Passion Fruit body scrub (200ml) - S$12.90
Papaya shower gel (250ml) - 2 for S$12.90
Peach shower gel (250ml) - 2 for S$12.90
Tea tree oil - S$9.90
Tea tree oil concealer - S$9.90
Tea tree oil face wash (250ml) -S$12.90

With every S$80 charged to DBS credit cards, there is a gift - Spa Wisdom Japan Apricot & Rice Finishing Mist (100ml).

Such Body Shop sales are usually held at least twice a year at Suntec Convention Hall and its definitely a good time to stock up on lotions and shower gels. Although we are not huge fans of The Body Shop, such sales are tough to resist (Mochii is a horrible shopaholic).

We have also heard of people buying their early Xmas pressies at the Body Shop sales. Would you do your Xmas shopping at such warehouse sales??

Liese Smooth Hair Cocktail

Review by Mochii:
This is a review on the Liese Smooth Hair Cocktail (140ml) which promises to detangle and provide hydration for the hair. Liese is one of the brands under KAO, which basically markets a range of Japanese products.
Liese Smooth Hair Cocktail is a bi-layer detangler treatment that contains the following:

1) Repairing Water that instantly hydrates hair.

2) Moisture Milk that locks in moisture and coats hair smoothly for easy combing.
Housed in a cute pink bottle with a darker pink cap, the Liese Smooth Hair Cocktail definitely stood out in the Watsons store and caught my eye. Pretty packaging is definitely my weakness and we all know Japanese brands have no lack of cute & pretty packaging.
The instructions are to shake the bottle to mix the 2 layers of liquid and spray onto the hair. Shoulder length hair would require about 10 pumps of hair mist. I have really long hair that almost reaches my waist so I used approximately 17 sprays.  The scent is absolutely amazing, smells like berries and peaches (note: Mochii adores fruity scents), so this product makes your hair smell heavenly. Good to use after a meal at the coffee shop to rid the hair of those awful food smells.
By the way, just for background, I have really dry and tangled hair, no thanks to more than 12 years of hair colouring. L I have tried numerous hair treatment products, leave-in conditioners, hair oil, hair masks, hydrating hair sprays… you name it. Well, actually I must say that none of the products I tried helped to “cure” my dry & damaged hair, but they do provide a temporary relief. Even expensive salon treatments usually only work for me for about 2 weeks, then the smoothness of the hair (especially the from shoulder onwards) disappears and the dry & detangled hair happily settles it and refuses to budge.
Well, Liese Smooth Hair Cocktail doesn’t exactly do wonders to my already pathetic hair condition, but it does help to detangle rather well. I usually spray the product a few times (4x or 5x) to the tangled area and then use my fingers to comb through my hair to detangle it. Sadly, the hydration function isn’t great, my hair only looks hydrated for a mere 15 mins after using the cocktail and its back to original state. But well, its probably due to my super dry hair which doesn't seem to absorb moisture well. Nevertheless, definitely a thumbs up for the detangling function.
This product would be suitable for ladies with normal to slightly dry hair. Gals with super dry and/or damaged hair (sigh, ME) would have to resort to heavier hair oils for more hydration. Nevertheless, still a great product if you need a detangler solution which provides mild hydration and doubles up as a hair fragrance.
I am partial to that sweet peaches & berries scent and that oh-so-pretty bottle, so this gets a 4/5 rating from me.

Promo : SK-II Cellumination Essence ~

SK-II advertisements are rampant in most women’s magazines (we are sure that you would have at least seen one SK-II advertisement in the last one month) and apart from their skin signature series and facial treatment essence, one of their other frequently raved about SK-II products is the SK-II Cellumination Essence.

Have you tried SK-II Cellumination Essence yet? Well, we have and it works wonders in lightening our complexion (especially pigmentation and acne scars). It really brightens up the face after consistent application for 2 weeks.

The following information on the SK-II Cellumination Essence is obtained from SK-II’s website:

“SK-II Cellumination Essence (Hydrating Serum) hydrates and refines the surface to boost skin’s natural, healthy-looking glow and to help diminish the appearance of discoloration for a more even tone.

It conditions and refines for a skin surface with more even texture and transparency that boosts light   transmission within the surface. More light transmission creates a healthy   looking natural glow and makes the look of discolorations such as age spots have a less obvious contrast to natural skin color.

It contains concentrated SK-II   Pitera that helps lead to improvement in overall skin appearance. It permeates quickly into the skin   and gives a light and smooth feeling when applied.”

SK-II Cellumination Essence currently retails in Singapore department stores at S$199 for a 30ml bottle and S$299 for a 50ml bottle.

For SK-II fans, we are holding a limited period special promotion where you can buy a 50ml SK-II Cellumination Essence from us at only S$249. This translates to savings of S$50 per bottle! Buyers of 2 bottles and above will receive free registered postage (within Singapore), and if you purchase 3 bottles and above, you will receive an additional 5% discount!
